ESM was founded 1864 as the watch maker Elgin Watch Company. In the year 1949 ESM became a producer
of high precision Strip and wire with developing the CoCrMo Alloy Elgiloy for the watch industrie.
But as word of its durability spread outside the watch industry, the demand for Elgiloy grew...in aerospace,
medical devices, and petrochemical applications.As markets expanded, facilities were added to keep
up with the demand for more wire and strip. Additional compatible alloys were added to the production
and today Elgiloy produces more than 40 high performance alloys.
